Carter-Ruck - recklessly acting for a $4bn fraudster

A couple of quick updates.

First, I’m thrilled to have won "investigation of the year" in the British Journalism Awards for our Zahawi investigation. So many people contributed to this - journalists, lawyers, tax advisers, and many others. The almost unanimous support from tax and legal people, and in fact just about everyone, was pivotal to our decision to keep going. Thank you!

Second, we’ve just published a detailed analysis of how libel firm Carter-Ruck acted for OneCoin, a massive cryptocurrency fraud. The evidence is reasonably clear that Carter-Ruck were reckless in choosing to act for OneCoin and how they acted. They missed obvious signs of fraud. That had serious consequences.

More coming later this week: the sad sequel to the Post Office tax scandal.
